Georgia Wilde is a multi-award winning BAFTA Connect filmmaker.
Georgia grew up in Somerset writing short stories and discovered her passion for directing at fourteen when she directed a play, ‘A Memory of Lizzie Borden’ written by David Foxton.
Georgia was studying Media at college when she was selected for a competitive apprenticeship scheme with the BBC, therefore leaving her course a year early, becoming the youngest employee at BBC Bristol, later winning BTEC’s ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award in the UK.
Whilst studying her apprenticeship on BBC’s Countryfile, Georgia was selected onto the BFI Film Academy and co-wrote and co-directed a short film, based on her exam anxiety. ‘You May Begin’ won multiple ‘Best Film’ awards at festivals across the world in the student filmmaker category.
Georgia started working on set when she was sixteen as a Runner and was offered an opportunity to work the second series of ITV’s Broadchurch. Before completing her apprenticeship, Georgia was offered a position in the production office at BBC EastEnders and moved to London. Georgia progressed within the programme to become a Script Supervisor whilst also training at the National Film and Television School. She became a freelance Script Supervisor working in HETV and is represented by Sara Putt Associates, having worked on projects such as Enola Holmes 3, Young Sherlock and The Outlaws.
In 2025, Georgia’s dark comedy short film, ‘Fudge Sundae’ starring Ed Speleers, Emer Heatley, Joanne Froggatt and Kevin McNally was premiered at Stroud Film Festival.
‘Fudge Sundae’ has screened and won awards around the world including ‘Best First-Time Filmmaker’, ‘Best Cinematography’ and multiple Audience Choice awards.
